About El Criticón Restaurante

The charm of the dining experience at El Criticón Restaurante is found in its balance between rustic ambiance and attentive presentation. Dim lighting and wooden accents create an inviting warmth, yet the atmosphere is comfortably relaxed rather than overly formal. While perusing photos of the restaurant online may highlight this cozy setting, the reality adds a layer of authenticity that photos alone rarely capture. Patrons often reflect on the courteous yet unobtrusive nature of the staff, who manage to remain knowledgeable about daily specials without overwhelming the conversation. Such nuances subtly influence how visitors perceive the value relative to other eateries in Graus.

Among the many appealing elements found on the El Criticón Restaurante menu, the local specialties stand out with fresh ingredients and careful preparation. A particular highlight includes dishes that celebrate Aragonese traditions, where seasonal produce pairs with expertly cooked meats, showcasing a deeper connection to regional flavors. The variety avoids monotony, although some selections might feel reserved in seasoning, lending themselves more to classic than adventurous palates. Reviews gathered from various sources often praise the harmony of textures and subtle nuances, demonstrating skillful restraint rather than excessive flourish, a choice that resonates well with those seeking comfort over complexity.

Beyond the cuisine, the interplay between setting and service invites reflection on the overall dining outcome. Occasional waits during peak times suggest that the kitchen prioritizes quality over rapid turnover, a decision that trades some convenience for flavor integrity. Insights from diverse El Criticón Restaurante reviews reveal a consistent appreciation for this approach, balanced with occasional notes about limitations in space or parking. Ultimately, the impressions of visitors tend to coalesce around a well-rounded experience where the thoughtful crafting of each dish and the measured pace of service contribute to a memorable, albeit quietly understated, outing.

Not the first time I have been here, last time was 2-3y ago. I ordered a menu. Before the first dish was brought we received the typical iberican ham croquettes as a courtesy. Very crispy, good taste! Then the first dish: the cannelloni. It was complete, very tasty and a large quantity. Second dish: ducklegs confit, with potatoes and batter + fried vegetables on the side. The duck was cooked to perfection and the fig confit matched exquisitely. The fried potatoes were to me not fried enough (unfortunatelly as in practically every Spanish restaurant). The battered and fried vegetables were good, I know its a trend but I wouldn't have minded the vegetables naturally cooked ;-) The dessert for me was the cheesecake with wild Berry coulis also good. Accompanied with the food we had a good white chardonnay - Bestué (1 bottle for 3 menus ordered) Overall for me a perfect menu, service and attention was good. Prices might be slightly higher then other restaurants but I guess it remains the best restaurant in Graus and neighbouring towns. Some pictures are from meals of people at my table not described above.

We visited the Criticón restaurant on a Saturday lunchtime, 4 friends, tired out and sweaty from a hard morning's ride round the Pyrenees on our motorbikes. The restaurant looked quite formal, but we were given a hearty welcome. Certainly, if you want to dress up and impress your girlfriend or boyfriend, this place would be perfect. We all had a €30 set menu, which was excellent, tasty food, and plenty of it. We couldn't go overboard on the wine, as we had another few hundred km to ride, but what we did have was excellent. I would readily go back, but as we live so far from the Pyrenees, it won't be for a long time, unfortunately.
